Wandoor Beach – Wandoor

Perfect place for Picnics and Family Get–Aways...

This beautiful beach is situated in the vicinity of Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, at a distance of approximately 30 (thirty) kilometers from Port Blair in the small village of Wandoor and is maintained by the Forest Department.

This beach serves as an ideal place for Swimming, Surfing and Sun-Basking facilitated with Water Sports Activities like Water Scooters (Jet Skies) & Speed Boats, Hotels/Resorts, Restaurants and Bars and a Beach Market filled with essential commodities like Fast Food and Refreshers and and small shops selling Shell and Tea & Snacks items.

Munda Pahaad Beach – Chidiya Tapu

Ideal spot for Picnic, Snorkelling & Scuba Diving but under professional guidance...

Munda Pahaad Beach is situated at approximately 32 (thrity two) kilometers from Port Blair in the vicinity of Chidiya Tapu Forest Range and is an ideal place for Swimming and Sun-Basking. The Beach is approximately 04 kilometers from the Chidiya Tapu Guest House. The Forest Department has maintained the beach and its surroundings by fixing chairs, benches and tables and other amusement play stuffs which makes this place an ideal place for any tourist to make a visit.

The water around the beach is shallow and full of Jelly Fishes adding extra fun for swimmers along with the major attraction of this place being the Sunset (the sun goes down in a very breathtaking way). The place also serves as the best place for family outings and picnics.

Foods and eatables are not available here on the beach, so one has to carry it along from Port Blair; also be notified that alcoholism and nudity is not entertained on this beach…


Collinpur Beach – Tirur

This Collinpur Beach is at approximately 35 (thirty five) kilometers from Port Blair and has a beautiful Sandy Beach with shallow water which tempts anyone to step in the waters without any anxiety. The region is plain and at mean sea level with low terrain on the other side and is covered with dense tropical forest. This place is rich with various species of flora and fauna both endangered and endemic.

At a walking distance of around 3 (three) kilometers from Collinpur Beach, is the lonelier and yet another beautiful “Kurma Dera Beach” which is yet to be explored for its potentiality. Salt Water Crocodiles are spotted here on this Kurma Der Beach; therefore, one should be very careful & cautious while visiting this place as the approach towards the beach is very muddy and leads through the dense mangrove creeks amongst the habitats of these Crocodiles.

The beach is stretched over an area of approximately 02 (two) kilometers with its width extending upto approximately 25-35 meters with beautiful white sand and turquoise waters.

The beach is a great place to spend leisure times with family and friends, while the major activities on this beach are Swimming, Sun Basking, Beach Camping (with proper permissions and equipments) and strolling through the dense rain forest on the beach lines.

There are ample of 3 Star hotels that have their own restaurants serving Indian & Chinese Cuisines, while in addition there are few Food Stalls near the beach serving eatables and non-alcoholic drinks. You can also throw yourself into shopping Shell Items from these Stalls.


Elephant Beach – Havelock

This beach is located to the west of Havelock Jetty and it’s a 40-45 minutes ride by a speed boat or a dinghy. As the name suggests the beach was the native for Elephants of Havelock with thick and dense forest on the beach line, but at present one can hardly spot any Elephants on this beach. The beach has shallow waters rich with rare species of marine life (especially the Sea Horse and the fringe-Lip Flat Heads along with large stretches of Corals) and the place is best suited for Snorkeling and Diving Activities with proper guidance while those who are scared of getting into the waters can also enjoy the underwater marine life through a Glass Bottom Boat.

Tours to this Elephant Beach is organized from Havelock Jetty by private Ferry and Dinghy Operators. Altogether this place is best suited for under water sports lovers and adventurers…


Bharatpur Beach – Neil

Close to the Jetty and best suited for Sun Baths, Picnics & Snorkeling activities...

This white sand beach lies on the right side of the Neil Jetty at about half a kilometer, and is loaded with beautiful marine life (Corals & Colorful Fishes) while the side lines of the beach is packed with sloping trees and cool green vegetations and decked with benches which provides hide–out shelter from the scorching sun to the visitors of this place.

The beach suits best for Swimming, Sun Basking while the shallow water provides the visitors with best option for Snorkeling activities. Glass Bottom Boats are also available for Coral watching for those who are scared of getting into the water directly. Foods and eatables are not available on the beach, so one has to carry it along from the bazaar before moving onwards while few stalls are located here selling Packaged Drinking Water & Coconut Water for the visitors.


Laxmanpur Beach – Neil

The main attraction of this place remains the Natural Rock Formation and the Romantic & the Spectacular Sunset...

This secluded white sand beach lies on the left side of the Neil Jetty at about two kilometers. The water around the sea is shallow and packed with rocks (Coral Formations) which are very slippery while the ambience of the beach is a collection of spurs of dead Shells & Corals. Further the sea around this beach is the home for loads of Ornamental Fishes, Sea Urchins, Sea Anemones, Sea Cucumbers, Star Fishes and other marine creatures.

The beach suits best for Swimming, Sun Baths and Evening Stroll with Family & Friends watching the Sun go down (Romantic Sunset Point), while the shallow water provides the visitors with best option for Snorkeling activities. Foods and eatables are not available on the beach, so one has to carry it along from the bazaar before moving onwards...


Ross & Smith Beaches – Diglipur

A formal permission is required from the Forest Officials to enter into these Islands.

Ross and Smith Islands is a Twin Island connected with a thin Sand Bar making it a single Island while the entire surrounding is crowded with Tropical Forest infusing visitors for Trekking & Trail Hiking into the dense Jungle. The Blue Waters and the Marine Sanctuary on this Island makes it a perfect place for Coral Watching with loads of Ornamental Fishes, Swimming, Snorkeling & Scuba Diving but with proper permission and professional guidance.
