Anthropological Museum

Anthropology - The social science that studies the origins and social relationships of human beings...

This museum is maintained and supervised by Anthropological Survey of India (ASI) and is situated in the heart of the Capital City - Port Blair. This museum constitutes various collections of Tools & Weapons used by different Andaman Tribes. The museum is a collection of Potteries, Hut Models, Wooden Boats made and manufactured by the different aborigines of these Islands. A collection of Photographs and Videos depicting the Life & Culture of Andamanese and the Tribes of Andaman & Nicobar Islands are displayed here along with this the Administration also screens some documentary for the visitors and tourists to admire.

The Museum is open from 09:00 AM till 12:00 Noon and then again from 01:00 PM till 04:00 PM on all the days except on Thursdays and Public Holidays. The Visitors and Tourists have to pay a nominal fee to enter into the premises. Also be informed that photography is not allowed inside the museum...


Fisheries Museum

This Fisheries Museum is located in the premises of "Andaman Water Sports Complex" adjoining the "Marina Park" at the Aberdeen Bazaar Jetty. This museum is an Aquarium enriched with different varieties of Fishes & Under Water Sea Creatures; which are found & located in and around Andaman Sea.

The Museum is open on all the days except on Mondays and Public Holidays; while the visitors & tourists are charged a nominal entry fee for entering into the premises. Also be informed that photography is not allowed inside the museum...


Mini Zoo

Mini Zoo, as the name suggests, is a small zoo situated at Haddo in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Zoo is famed to popularity mainly due to its Crocodile Breeding Program. The breeded Crocodiles can be spotted in the wild waters surrounded by dense Green Forests. The Zoo houses more than 100 endemic Species of Birds and Animals. All common birds and animals can be spotted here like the Andaman Pig and the Nicobar Pigeon which are amongst the rare species of Animals can be located here...

The Museum is open on all the days except on Mondays and Public Holidays...


Forest Museum

This museum is situated at Haddo and is run and maintained by the Department of Forest, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The museum contains typical contents showcasing the artifacts ("a man-made object taken as a whole") made out of different varieties of Timber such as Peauma, Oak, Gurjan, Padauk, Satin Wood and many more. The museum also houses the exhibits of different varieties of Trees found in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Museum is open from 08:00 AM till 12:00 Noon and then again from 02:30 PM till 05:00 PM on all working days except on Public Holidays. The Visitors and Tourists have to pay a nominal fee to enter into the museum.


Zoological Survey of India Museum

This museum is situated at Delanipur near Andaman Teal House and is a collection of several varieties of Sponges, Corals, Butterflies, Centipedes etc. and is maintained by the Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands... the Regional Centre was established in the year 1977 to study the Faunal Diversity and Marine Life of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The island is enriched with tropical plants & animals of some which are exclusively found on these islands only.

The library in this museum holds more than 1400 books on islands ecosystem and marine life while the museum displays more than 1200 specimens of various marine and terrestrial animals on these islands. The Museum is open for public visits on all working days except on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays...


Samudrika – The Marine Museum

The Museum is open from 09:00 AM till 12:00 Noon and then again from 02:00 PM till 05:00 PM on all working days except on Mondays and Public Holidays...

This Marine Museum is run and maintained by the Indian Navy at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This museum invokes awareness amongst the Visitors & Tourists about the Ocean and Marine Life and the environment therein.

    This Emporium is located in the heart of the Capital City, Port Blair and is run and maintained by the Industries Department. The Emporium is enriched with collections of Wooden Handicrafts, Furniture’s, handcrafted Models of Vessels & Others, Shell Ornaments and other eye catching materials. Also you will find here handicrafts and artifacts from the Nicobari People…

    Further you can locate plenty of small outlets dealing in the sales of the Shell Items/Products, Handcrafted Items/Products, Wood Crafted Items/Products, Hand Weaved & Jute Products, produced and manufactured at Small Scale Cottage Industries at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

    The Emporium is open from 09:00 AM till 08:00 PM on all working days except on Sundays and Public Holidays...


    Science Centre

    Its open from 10:00 AM till 05:30 PM on all working days except on Wednesday and Public Holidays...

    The Science Centre, situated approximately 05 (five) kilometers from the Port Blair town, houses a Gallery which exhibits genesis of the Islands, Volcanic Activities, Science of Oceans, Fun Science Gallery, Modern Technology Gallery, Taramandal (Portable Planetarium), and an In-House Butterfly Pen.

    The ambience of the Science Centre is filled with Green Plantations. The lawn further houses various statues & structures of Prehistoric Animals along with different play equipments for children to lure for. Further in the open air, Parabolic Reflectors are installed which sends whispers to distant destination while hollow pipes are installed to generate differential music.

    The Centre also screens 3D Movies & Documentaries for Children’s & Elders; occasionally… which makes this a must visit place for everyone...


    Sippighat Organic Farm

    Extra–Ordinary collection of beautiful Ornamental Plants, Flowers & Spices...

    This Farm is approximately 14 (fourteen) kilometers from Port Blair and is run and maintained by Central Agriculture & Research Institute (CARI), Garacharma, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The Farm is spread over an area of approximately 80 (eighty) acres. This Organic Farm cultivates experimental Crops, Vegetables, and different flavors of Essence & Perfumes.

    Scientists here conduct Researches & Development Programs for Cultivation of Spices like Cloves, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Coconut, Pepper etc... Researchers & Scientists also experiment on Plants and various Domestic & Wild Flowers along with Sea Creatures and different species of Fishes which are found in and around Andaman Sea.

    The Farm is open on all days except on Pulic Holidays for visits...
